WARM YOUR WHISKERS

I had the pleasure of doing a hot cocoa bar for our elementary school's staff!  So great to give back to our wonderful staff, and reward them for the super job's they do!

Santa's 'Stache Bash

Was out and about yesterday and saw the cutest gift bag with Santa's Stache written on the front.  With this inspiration, I modified the cookies and cocoa invite to a Santa 'Stache Bash!  Now Available in my etsy shop.

TIFFANY & COMPANY INSPIRED PARTY

Ally & Company

Just finished a Tiffany inpsired party this weekend.   This was a very inexpensive party, I just pulled from decorations and room decor I already had.   Alot of them came from my daughter's room and others were Christmas and Halloween Decorations I had bought years ago on clearance.

HALLOWEEN IDEAS

Inexpensive Halloween Decorating
Last year we had alot of activities going on and I didn't decorate for Halloween.  My girls are getting older and they wanted something creepy.  With a tear in my eye, I packed away all the cute, whimsical decor.

Most of the decor I used came from the Dollar Tree, Thrift Stores and items I already had around the house.  If I am buying something new, I wait to purchase after halloween, I never pay full price.  I am a bargain shopper, I like to wait til everything is 75% off.

I love how my black and white striped candles turned out.  I purchased Dollar Tree white candles (2 to a pack) and applied strips of black electrical tape.   The chandelier is covered  in cheese cloth, then I cut strips leftover and hung them from the arms.  Very creepy!

New Invites in the Shop

I am so excited to do a Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired party for a sweet nine year old.  I have the invite in the shop, the one below I added the birthday girl's face in the Audrey Hepburn inspired silhouette.  These invites would also be great for a bridal shower.  I can't wait to decorate!

GG's 98th Birthday - A Few of My Favorite Things

What will this day be like, I wonder?

It was fabulous!  No raindrops on roses in site, it was a beautiful day!  We celebrated my grandmother's 98th birthday this weekend with "A Few of My Favorite Things" theme.  My mom was my fact finder, helping me get all my grandmother's favorite things documented.  She has alot!  It was a treat finding out things we didn't know.  For instance, I didn't know she collected arrowheads when she was younger or that her favorite candy bar was a Baby Ruth.

When family and friends arrived, they wrote a favorite thing about the birthday girl on post-it notes, in the shape of an "H" - her initial.  These notes will go in her memory book.  My cousin, Gerlinda, played the guitar, and we all sang, "These are a Few of My Favorite Things" to her.  Most of the great-grandchildren didn't know this song, so they all learned something new!

We did have a day full of the sound of music, fun and laughter...Great memories, and looking forward to many more!

I made all the printables, signs and tablescape, my inspiration was from "favorite things" I already had.  For instance the chevron fabric, was the inspiration for the design of the invite and used throughout the printables.

My first attempt at a ruffle cake.

Family and Friends wrote their favorite thing about the birthday girl.

My GG - being "Maria" - Yes, it was a wonderful day!
